Couldn't load pickup availability
Published on the occasion of Bai Ming’s major solo exhibition, At the Crossroads of Worlds, at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rome, the catalogue takes a close look at Bai Ming’s unique artistic vision that runs through his diverse approaches and media, including ceramics, ink paintings and lacquer paintings, shedding light on his experimental spirit grounded in a profound understanding and respect for his heritage.
The publication features an in-depth essay by the curator Jean-Louis Andral, Director of Musée Picasso, Antibes, that examines Bai’s artistic development spanning more than 30 years, along with contributions by Renata Cristina Mazzantini, Director of the National Gallery; Federico Masini, Professor of Chinese Language and Literature at Sapienza Università di Roma; Guanyu Wang, Associate Curator (Antiquities) at the Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong; Tiziana Lippiello, Dean of Università Ca' Foscari Venezia; and Catherine Kwai, founder of Kwai Fung Foundation Limited.
Presenting all the works from the exhibition and their installation views in the two-story exhibition space, the catalogue celebrates the artist’s achievement and demonstrates his firm belief that “the core of tradition is innovation”.
